Behind the Scenes Hitsville Honors
Frederic Yonnet performed Stevie Wonder’s “Fingertips” during Hitsville Honors, a tribute to Berry Gordy Jr. and the legacy and impact of Motown Records.The unbilled number teamed Yonnet with beatboxer-rapper Doug E. Fresh and gospel maven Tasha Page-Lockhart for an exuberant performance that drew a standing ovation.
The event was held Sept 22 at Orchestra Hall and proceeds benefited the Motown Museum, Hitsville, U.S.A., the label’s home during its 1960s heyday. Other guest performances by The Temptations, Four Seasons, Big Sean, Mary Wilson, Martha Reeves, KEM, and Ne-Yo.
