Frédéric
joins Dave Chappelle at
the
African
American Cross Cultural Works
Bluesfest
September
8-10. 2006
[Washington, DC, September
6, 2006] On Sunday,
September 10, 2006, Dave Chappelle
and a few friends take the stage
at the 9th Annual African American
Cross Cultural Works (AACW) Bluesfest.
Just as in his movie Block Party
, Chappelle gets together with
some of his favorite artists
but this time, it's in his hometown
of Yellow Springs, Ohio.
Dave Chappelle has added an extra
day and some extra star power to
the two-day festival as a way to
honor his father, William Chappelle,
a member of the AACW, who, along
with Faith Patterson, started the
Bluesfest in 1997. "Dave's
involvement has helped increase
awareness of the valuable work
that our culturally inclusive,
grassroots community organization
provides to the citizens of Yellow
Springs and throughout the Miami
Valley," said Faith Patterson.
Performances by neo-soul and hip-hop
artists Erykah Badu, R&B singer/songwriter
Goapele, jazz harmonica player
Frederic Yonnet, and other special
guests. The event is open
to the public and a $20 donation
to the AACW is requested.
